Stéphane Cuxac Sénégal, b. 1985

With Pangool, a series of unique prints, Stéphane gives substance to the traditions of his Serer ancestors who, for over four millennia, have expressed their spirituality through the art of levitation.

Stéphane Daaly Cuxac was born in Abidjan in 1985 where he grew up until his teenage years. He now lives and works in Dakar (Senegal).

He pursued his academic studies in France where he naturally turned to a field of study that would develop his imagination. He obtained a Master's degree in Visual Communication and a Bachelor's degree in Art History and discovered photography and graphic design. A self-taught photographer, Stéphane combines graphic design and photography to blend the imaginary with  reality.

With Pangool, a series of unique prints, the artist gives substance to the traditions of his Serer ancestors who, for over four millennia, have expressed their spirituality through the art of levitation. His photographic compositions, at once an ode to the power of the body and the depth of the soul, remind us the contemporary aspect of these ancestral practices.
