In the continuation of his last exhibition "Un monde à part", Dominique Zinkpè intends to offer us a form of synthesis of his artistic journey since his first meeting with Simone Guirandou during the Grapholies d'Abidjan in 1993. Happy to be back in this world city, Zinkpè salutes the importance of this platform of artistic creation as much by the vitality of its stage as by the pedagogical training of INSAAC and the support of the galleries. 2020 marked the world with a brutal stop, allowing everyone to measure the fragility of what seemed intangible, but also to take the time to review one's own journey and to question oneself. This period has been introspective and productive, many drawings have sprung up, they are the basis of all his creation, at the same time research, sketches or modeling of a reflection. The artist probes here our " moods ", his, ours, and the level of our worries about the future of the human adventure. Sculptures made up of hohô figurines in homage to the cultures and know-how of the Continent, paintings and drawings bear witness to this troubled period and invite us to share our feelings: "Children ask their mother to rescue them! We thought we were strong and we realise that we are weak, especially we no longer know who to turn to". The exhibited works, like "La Pieta", humbly invite us towards a redemptive consolation and a form of resistance to improve our respective universes.
