ECHOES OF MEMORIES
KLERVIE MOUHO -
SEE ON ARTSY
Through her vibrant pastels and blurred contours, Klervie Mouho explores the porous nature of memory, the complexity of family ties, and the echoes of a shared past. The figures in her compositions — children, military men, young girls — are all faceless. Drawn from family photo albums and casual snapshots, they reflect a blend of personal history and collective remembrance.
These characters, though anonymous, demand attention. It is within the absence of eyes that tension arises — a quiet dialogue forms between viewer and image. The facelessness becomes a surface for projection, a mirror through which we recall our own stories, our own unspoken truths.
Here, paper becomes the ground for blur and emotion, where past and present merge without ever fully meeting. The scenes suggest tender moments, quiet violence, military upheavals, and intimate silences. Nothing is entirely heavy nor light: everything lives in nuance, alteration, reinvention.
In this interplay of distortion and suggestion, Klervie Mouho questions how stories are shaped — the ones we inherit, the ones we keep, and the ones we rewrite to move forward. Her instinctive gestures, vibrant palette and fragmented narratives carve out a poetic space where silence speaks as clearly as form.

About Klervie Mouho
Klervie Mouho is a Franco-Ivorian artist and graphic designer. Born in Abidjan, her interest in visual storytelling and memory began early. She graduated from the Beaux-Arts of Angers (TALM) in 2021 and earned a master’s degree from Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) in 2023, where she received the ZHdK Fund for international projects and the Förder Prize (2nd place).
Her work explores blurred memories, familial silence and fragmented narratives. Through faceless figures and oil pastels, she questions how private and collective memory is constructed. Based between Côte d’Ivoire, France and Switzerland, she has developed a poetic and introspective visual language that intertwines personal experience with universal resonance.
