This work explores learning as an unfinished gesture caught between instruction and imagination. The figure pauses mid-writing, eyes lifted toward an empty chalk drawing of an open book. What should contain knowledge remains blank, suggesting that education here is not fully delivered but anticipated. The classroom becomes a site of projection rather than certainty.

The collaged garment, assembled from newspapers and fragments of everyday imagery, interrupts the formal act of study. External realities, social events, labor, movement, and place, bleed into the educational space, asserting that learning does not occur in isolation. The body absorbs knowledge not only from textbooks but from lived experience and collective memory.

Unlike passive study, the upward gaze introduces resistance: a questioning of what is taught, what is omitted, and what must be imagined independently. Writing becomes both compliance and quiet authorship. The work proposes education as an incomplete system, one that requires the learner to look beyond the page and fill the gaps left behind.

Cette œuvre explore l’apprentissage comme un geste inachevé, pris entre instruction et imagination. Le personnage interrompt son écriture et lève les yeux vers un dessin à la craie représentant un livre ouvert — un livre pourtant vide.

Ce qui devrait contenir le savoir demeure blanc, suggérant que l’éducation n’est pas toujours pleinement transmise ; elle est parfois seulement annoncée, promise. La salle de classe devient alors un espace de projection plutôt que de certitude.

Le vêtement en collage, composé de fragments de journaux et d’images du quotidien, perturbe la scène académique. Les réalités extérieures — événements sociaux, travail, mouvement, territoire — traversent l’espace scolaire, rappelant que l’apprentissage ne se produit jamais en vase clos. Le corps absorbe le savoir autant par l’expérience vécue que par les manuels.

Le regard levé introduit une forme de résistance : questionner ce qui est enseigné, ce qui est omis, et ce qu’il faut imaginer soi-même. Écrire devient à la fois un geste de conformité et d’appropriation silencieuse. L’œuvre suggère que l’éducation est un système incomplet, qui exige du sujet qu’il dépasse la page pour combler les vides.
