This work reflects on education as an act shaped by anticipation rather than certainty. Seated before an open book, the figure appears absorbed in study, yet the surrounding space suggests limitation: dim light, a single lantern, and a chalkboard marked not with lessons but with the word “Future” and unfinished arithmetic. Learning here is framed as preparation for something undefined, suspended between aspiration and scarcity.

The collaged shirt constructed from newspapers, images, and layered pigment functions as a surface where lived realities intrude upon formal education. Knowledge is not isolated within the book; it is already embedded in the body, shaped by social conditions, economic pressures, and inherited expectations. The calm posture contrasts with the uncertainty written behind the figure, emphasizing endurance rather than optimism.

Rather than presenting education as a guaranteed path forward, the work considers study as an act of faith; an insistence on imagining a future even when its outcome remains unresolved.

++++++++++
