Created for his participation in Documenta 15 (2022 Kassel, Germany) with the Segou Art collective, ADN Collectif is a testimony of the Artist, his contribution, in favor of the preservation of the cultural heritage of his country.
Folding cardboard and newspaper, in memory of Dakouo's father, a printer, and tying each piece with cotton thread, gives birth to the "gris-gris", crafted in the image of the protective amulets worn by the hunters of the Dozo brotherhood of Mali, custodians of age-old mystical knowledge. Reproduced manually, each one a unique piece, the gris-gris are linked here to construct three 250 x 500 cm hangings. They interlock one another, in concentric arcs and envelop, in its core a receptacle containing the protected pieces.
